Genpower Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
We are committed to preventing, identifying, and reporting modern slavery in any part of our organisation or supply network. Everyone working for us, or on our behalf, is expected to support this commitment and report any concerns.
Our commitment
We are committed to:
- Acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships
- Taking steps to reduce the risk of modern slavery in our operations and supply chain
- Working with suppliers and partners who share our standards
- Investigating concerns and taking appropriate action where needed
Slavery and human trafficking
We do not tolerate slavery, servitude, forced labour, or human trafficking in any form.
In line with UK Government guidance, this includes situations where a person is controlled, exploited, or deprived of their freedom, as well as situations where a person is moved or recruited for the purpose of exploitation.
Our risk-based approach
We take a risk-based approach to supplier management and contracting, and we keep our processes under review.
Where appropriate, we may require recruitment agencies, labour providers, and other third parties supplying workers to confirm that they comply with our modern slavery standards.
As part of our ongoing due diligence, we may also carry out supplier checks or audits where the level of risk justifies it.
What we expect from suppliers
We expect suppliers and labour providers to meet legal and ethical standards, including:
- Keeping accurate records of employee age and working hours
- Ensuring all workers meet the legal minimum working age
- Ensuring working hours do not exceed legal limits
- Providing appropriate breaks, rest days, and holidays
- Paying wages that meet or exceed legal minimum requirements
- Making sure any deductions are lawful, reasonable, and clearly explained
- Avoiding discrimination in recruitment and employment
- Providing written employment contracts and workplace rules in a language employees can understand
- Prohibiting physical or verbal abuse
- Providing a safe and hygienic working environment
- Assessing and reducing risks linked to machinery, materials, equipment, and hazardous activities
- Ensuring workers have access to clean drinking water
If a breach is identified
If we identify a breach of this policy by a supplier, contractor, or any organisation working on our behalf, we will take appropriate action.
This may include:
- Investigating the issue
- Requiring corrective action
- Reviewing whether the relationship should continue
- Ending the relationship where necessary
Reporting concerns
Any concerns about forced labour, exploitation, human rights issues, or recruitment practices should be reported to our HR department.
All concerns raised will be taken seriously and investigated fully.
